Joanne Puffalt ¦ Studio Director
Joanne@loftstudiosinc.ca
Joanne never imagined that God would use her to lead LOFT. After a car accident damaged her throwing arm, Joanne was unable to pursue her initial past time; baseball. It was a couple years into a repetitious physio regime that someone recommended that she take up a more engaging activity that would help strengthen her damaged body. Ballet seemed the natural choice. She fell in love with the discipline and grace of classical ballet. Just beginning at twelve years of age, she lacked the experience and practice that other dancers in her class had, but for some reason this seemed to encourage her and make her work harder. She took all the available classes and was sure to assist and substitute all of the classes she could.
Joanne strongly believes that through love, patience, and kindness you can teach to love the discipline of practicing new skills. LOFT Studios was created to be different. Our relaxed fun approach allows humans to be who God has made them to be and have fun while maintaining the integrity and discipline of the art of dance. We are a community who encourage and provide support in a harsh critical world. Our teachers truly care for their students, and when a person feels appreciated and valued that is when the most inspiring things can happen.
When Joanne is not teaching she is spending time goofing around with her three little humans, and husband (The guy who built the studio for Mrs Joanne). They enjoy walking, road trips, playing in the yard, cooking/eating, and renovating their new to them mid-century modern home as a family. Always burning the candle of life with a blow torch.
Andrea Ranne ¦ Operations Manager/Email Extraordinaire
info@loftstudiosinc.ca
Andrea is so thankful to be a part of the team at LOFT. She responds to emails and processes registrations along with a variety of the behind the scenes tasks included in the Operations Manager position. Andrea enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. You could also find her in the kitchen baking or making soup. Being part of LOFT brings Andrea joy as it allows her to use her gifts to serve and honour God.
Mackie Chapman ¦ Dance Instructor
Tap/Pre Ballet/Mini Movers/Baby Ballet/Worship/Hip-Hop
Mackie@loftstudiosinc.ca
Mackie is enthusiastic (to say the least) about movement, inclusion and Jesus; LOFT is a beautiful combination of all three! As a kid, Mackie was not the most coordinated or most competitive dancer, but she was always drawn to the fellowship and creative spiritual outlet that dance provided. God used dance to bring many blessings into Mackie’s life, including a friendship with Joanne Puffalt! Joanne invited Mackie to join her at LOFT back in 2014.
Mackie has trained and taught in a wide variety of dance disciplines, falling in love with every single one. No matter the class, Mackie aims to love her students as unique, wonderfully and purposefully made individuals, regardless of their dance ability.
Because teaching toddlers and tap isn’t lively enough, Mackie also works as a Program Director at Stillwood Camp! Mackie can often be found in the forest, on a zipline, in the lake (all twelve months of the year!), or fellowshipping over a good scoop of Marble Malt Cookie Dough ice cream at Banter.
Kianna DeHaan ¦ Dance Instructor
Hip-Hop
Kianna@loftstudiosinc.ca
Mrs. Kianna is super excited to be teaching hip hop of all ages as it is her favourite and dear to her heart as well as the students! Outside of dance she is usually just hanging out with her husband or other family, she loves movies and popcorn. She is extremely excited to be welcoming her first child in 2024 as well!
Keterah Nagtegaal ¦ Dance Instructor
Ballet/Worship
Keterah@loftstudiosinc.ca
Ms. Keterah is excited to continue teaching at LOFT. She’ll be teaching Ballet and Worship/Contemporary classes. Dance has been integral to her faith journey and she loves sharing her love of Jesus with her students.
Carolyn Currey ¦ Dance Instructor
Ballet
Carolyn@loftstudiosinc.ca
Carolyn Currey has danced for twenty-eight years, taught for over twenty years, and toured professionally since 2008. She began dancing in her parents’ living room, roping her seven siblings into telling stories with music and dance. After she completed her ballet training in both British Columbia and Ontario, her hope was to use her gifts for the glory of God. Beginning with what she had in her hands, she put together a small production in 2008 with her family and toured through Ontario. The team grew to include more performers and since then, her production work with 1:11 Ministries has appeared on 100 Huntley St., the 700 Club, and stages across Canada and around the world.
As a dancer, teacher, and author, her heart is to continue to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through the arts. She loves passing on the joy of dance and storytelling to young dancers, along with a heart to worship Jesus.
Erika Faa ¦ Dance Instructor
Jazz
Erika@loftstudiosinc.ca
Erika has been a dancer her entire life and feels so blessed to be able to teach at LOFT this year. Teaching brings her lots of joy as she get to see the excitement and creativity in the minds of the students that remind her of when she was dancing at her home studio. Dance will always have a special place her heart, especially jazz. She looks forward to teaching jazz this 2024-2025 season at LOFT!
Kaitlyn Stahl ¦ Dance Instructor
Worship/Jazz/Hip-Hop
Kaitlyn@loftstudiosinc.ca
Kaitlyn has been dancing ever since she could walk and she loves teaching children because she can see herself in them. Dance has always been a huge part of her life, from competitions to dancing in the kitchen when she should be doing dishes!
When she isn’t dancing, you can find Kaitlyn at work in a bakery, scribbling poetry in one of her many notebooks, trying hard to teach herself guitar, existing in God’s beautiful nature or spending time with her favourite people.
Monica Carsience ¦ Art Instructor
Art
Monica@loftstudiosinc.ca
Monica is excited to be joining the talented team of instructors at LOFT Studios. She is ready to teach about and explore our unique artistic gifts that God has given us to enjoy. God himself is an artist, and because we’re made in His image, we can each develop our creative expression as a gift to honour and glorify Him.
When she’s not teaching art class, Monica loves to learn online, read, sing, pray with other believers, lead women’s Bible studies, workout and flag to Christian music, listen to podcasts, garden, and travel with her husband. She also loves to create costumes using thrifted materials that she and her husband wear when they serve as background extras on the TV show “The Chosen.”
Rianna Junghans ¦ Teacher & Facility Support
Pre-Ballet
Rianna has been dancing in many different styles since she was three. Her passion is to see kids discover the joy and creativity of dance. She loves to worship the Lord and sees dance as a beautiful expression of our love for Jesus! Rianna is super excited to be on the team this year and can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for LOFT.
Anna Gaudette ¦ Maternity Support
Hip-Hop
Anna has danced on an off during her school years. She loves to dance and the friendships that come from dancing together. Anna will be covering Mrs. Kianna’s maternity leave and teaching Hip-Hop classes at LOFT. Spending time with friends and enjoying good food is what Anna likes to do when she isn’t dancing. She is so excited to be part of LOFT this year.
