Joanne Puffalt ¦ Studio Director

Joanne@loftstudiosinc.ca

Joanne never imagined that God would use her to lead LOFT. After a car accident damaged her throwing arm, Joanne was unable to pursue her initial past time; baseball. It was a couple years into a repetitious physio regime that someone recommended that she take up a more engaging activity that would help strengthen her damaged body. Ballet seemed the natural choice. She fell in love with the discipline and grace of classical ballet. Just beginning at twelve years of age, she lacked the experience and practice that other dancers in her class had, but for some reason this seemed to encourage her and make her work harder. She took all the available classes and was sure to assist and substitute all of the classes she could.

Joanne strongly believes that through love, patience, and kindness you can teach to love the discipline of practicing new skills. LOFT Studios was created to be different. Our relaxed fun approach allows humans to be who God has made them to be and have fun while maintaining the integrity and discipline of the art of dance. We are a community who encourage and provide support in a harsh critical world. Our teachers truly care for their students, and when a person feels appreciated and valued that is when the most inspiring things can happen.

When Joanne is not teaching she is spending time goofing around with her three little humans, and husband (The guy who built the studio for Mrs Joanne). They enjoy walking, road trips, playing in the yard, cooking/eating, and renovating their new to them mid-century modern home as a family. Always burning the candle of life with a blow torch.

Andrea Ranne ¦ Operations Manager/Email Extraordinaire

info@loftstudiosinc.ca

Andrea is so thankful to be a part of the team at LOFT. When she isn’t responding to emails, processing registrations and working on all the other items that are part of being the Operations Manager, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family. She loves playing games and going on adventures with her husband and three children.

Being part of LOFT brings Andrea joy as it allows her to use her gifts to serve and honour God.

Mackie Chapman ¦ Dance Instructor
Tap/Pre Ballet/Mini Movers

Mackie@loftstudiosinc.ca

Mackie is enthusiastic (to say the least) about movement, inclusion and Jesus; LOFT is a beautiful combination of all three! As a kid, Mackie was not the most coordinated or most competitive dancer, but she was always drawn to the fellowship and creative spiritual outlet that dance provided. God used dance to bring many blessings into Mackie’s life, including a friendship with Joanne Puffalt! Joanne invited Mackie to join her at LOFT back in 2014.

Mackie has trained and taught in a wide variety of dance disciplines, falling in love with every single one. No matter the class, Mackie aims to love her students as unique, wonderfully and purposefully made individuals, regardless of their dance ability.

Because teaching toddlers and tap isn’t lively enough, Mackie also works as a Program Director at Stillwood Camp! Mackie can often be found in the forest, on a zipline, in the lake (all twelve months of the year!), or fellowshipping over a good scoop of Marble Malt Cookie Dough ice cream at Banter.

Kaylee Mills ¦ Dance Instructor
Jazz

Kaylee@loftstudiosinc.ca

Kaylee has been teaching at LOFT Studios since 2018 and absolutely adores being able to teach and inspire her students to make a connection between their faith and love for dance. Kaylee started dancing as a toddler, trying every style under the sun. In middle school she began competing and loved the extra time she could spend in the studio. Shortly after she began competing, she met a teacher that was passionate about expressing her love for the Lord through movement and that’s when Kaylee’s faith and love for dance collided. During this time, not only did Kaylee’s confidence flourish but also her relationship with God and recognition that her ability to worship through dance was a gift. In 2018, Kaylee was given the opportunity to travel to Haiti with a dance team where they served on the YWAM base in St Marc.

What Kaylee loves even more than dance, is being able to walk alongside and mentor her students as they navigate their faith, dance, and other obstacles that life throws at them. She strives for her students to not only grow in their dance technique, but their mental strength, confidence, maturity, and of course their relationship with Jesus.

Kaylee will be graduating in December 2022 with her Bachelor of Arts from UFV and plans to get her Bachelor of Education to become an elementary school teacher. When she’s not at the studio, she is spending time with her husband Daniel and pup Stevie, probably at the dog park or running around the yard.

Keterah Nagtegaal ¦ Dance Instructor
Ballet/Worship

Keterah@loftstudiosinc.ca

This is Keterah’s third season at LOFT and she’ll be teaching Jr. Ballet and Adult Worship. Dance has been integral to her faith journey and she loves sharing her love of Jesus with her students. Keterah is a mom of three and has resolved to make more muffins this fall.

Carolyn Currey ¦ Dance Instructor
Ballet

Carolyn@loftstudiosinc.ca

Carolyn Currey has danced for twenty-eight years, taught for over twenty years, and toured professionally since 2008. She began dancing in her parents’ living room, roping her seven siblings into telling stories with music and dance. After she completed her ballet training in both British Columbia and Ontario, her hope was  to use her gifts for the glory of God. Beginning with what she had in her hands, she put together a small production in 2008 with her family and toured through Ontario. The team grew to include more performers and since then, her production work with 1:11 Ministries has appeared on 100 Huntley St., the 700 Club, and stages across Canada and around the world.

As a dancer, teacher, and author, her heart is to continue to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through the arts. She loves passing on the joy of dance and storytelling to young dancers, along with a heart to worship Jesus.
